"Altai Tavan Bogd" & "Khuvsgul Lake" Tour

Day 1



Kharkhorum & Erdene Zuu Monastery





Kharkhorum, the symbolic ruins of the 13th century capital of the Mongol Empire. Visit Erdene-Zuu, the oldest monastery, with 108 stupas, built in 1586. Then visit Kharkhorum museum and see the Great Mongol state period, Stone Age, Bronze Age, Ancient state period halls.



Day 2



Tsenher Hot Springs





Mongolian most famous hot spring, Tsenkher natural hot spring, is located in south of Tsetserleg soum, in Arkhangai province. Situated between forested hills and breath taking mountains, this hot spring is surrounded by cliffs and rapid rivers. Water from this geological spectacle emerges from the ground at 85.5C degree.



Day 3



Taikhar Rock, Horgo Extinct Valcona, Terkh White Lake





Drive to Arkhangai province.Tour to Taikhar Rock that is 18m high cliff of granite.After drive to Khorgo Extinct Volcano and Terkh White Lake.Great white lake is located 2060 metres above the sea level. The lake, birdlife and mountains are now protected within 77,267 hectare Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park. The lake is around 16 km long, east to west, and around 4km-6km wide, north to south. The lake is extremely beautiful with fresh water and rich species of fish and birds.







Day 4



Telmen Lake





This salt lake is at an altutude of 1789 meters above sea level and covers am area pf 194 square km. Three islands are lovated in the lake, which is gathering point for migratory birds. Average temperature ranges from -32C in January to 12C in July.



Day 5 & Day 6



Otgontenger Mountain





Otgontenger, a mountain with permanent snow and the king peak of Khangai Mountain ranges, is elevated at the height of 4,021 meters from above sea level and is surrounded with deep forests, has plenty of fast flowing river and lakes, is rich with natural places with unique formation, rare plants and animals, and has many places with minerals waters, includes in territory of Zavkhan province. In 1992, Mongolian government delimited a strictly protected area around the peak. This area covers in area of 1,055 sq km.



Day 7 & Day 8



Khar Lake





The Ulaagchin Khar Lake is located in great lakes depression surrounded by fine sand dunes and mountains. The lake was formed about 5,000 years ago and considered one of the oldest lake in the world and covers 1980 sq m, 48 m deep, 30 km long, 5-10 km wide. There are 2 islands in the middle of the lake, raised up to 3,000 m above sea level.



Day 9



Khyargas Lake





It is located in the district of Khyargas, province of Uvs, at an altitude of approximately 1,025 m above sea level. From its size of 75 km long and 31 km wide. The Khyargas lake is one of the lakes which cover more than 1,000 sq km. Khyargas lake has many kinds of fishes that are pikes, herrings of Altai, herrings of Nokhoi and the migratory birds, which are rare, fore gather mostly in the surround of the lake thus there is a gorgeous native land wherever unrepeatable



Day 10 & Day 13



Bayan Ulgii





Travelling To Mongolia's western most aimag gives one the distinct feeling of reaching the end of the road, if not the end of the earth. Ulgii city is a windblown frontier town that will appeal to anyone who dreams of the Wild West. The town is predominantly Kazakh, and you'll soon start feeling it has more in common with Muslim-influenced Central Asia than Buddhist Mongolia.



Day 11 & Day 12



Altai Tavan Bogd National Park





Located at the western most point of Mongolia, this park on the border of both Russia and China has views of Kazakhstan from the highest peak of Tavan Bogd Mountains. At the northwest end of this 630,000 hectare park, the Altai Tavan Bogd Mountains contains the 5 highest mountain peaks in Mongolia, with the highest Khuiten Uul at 4,374m. The highest peak in the Tavan Bogd range, Khuiten Uul is the tallest mountain in Mongolia and is of interest to professional who are properly equipped with ice axes, crampons and ropes. The best time to climb is August and September, after the worst of the summer rains.



Day 14



Uureg Lake





Uureg Lake is a salt water lake located near Uvs Lake, the largest lake of Mongolia. A total of 4 rivers flow through Uureg and the area around the black is absolutely astonishing. From abundant wild life to rich and lush landscapes, Uureg lake is a must for weary travelers. This scared area is specially protected and it's animals are safeguarded by the forest rangers of Uvs province. Animals such is wolves, deer, fawn and even wolverines in habit this land.



Day 15



Zuun Gobi





Zuun Gobi is a soum that is located in the western part of Uvs province. Zuun Gobi soum is bordered by Tuva, Russia, to Tes, Khyrgas. It's 1.300 km from Ulaanbaatar.



Day 16



Tes River





The Tes river is a river in northwestern Mongolia and southern Tuva, Russia. Its spring is in Khuvsgul. The river then flows through Zavkhan, Tuva, next back to Uvs before entering Uvs lake. The newest conservation area in Uvs protects water flows, beaver and fish.



Day 17 & Day 18



Khuvsgul Lake





The "Khuvsgul Lake" is an extraordinary lake that stretches 136 km deep into the Siberian taiga. In surface area, this is the second-largest lake 2760 sq km in Mongolia, surpassed in size only by Uvs Lake, a shallow, salty lake in the western part of the country. "Khuvsgul Lake" is Mongolia's deepest lake as well as the world's 14th-largest source of fresh water it contains between 1% and 2% of the world's fresh water.



Day 19



Uran Togoo Tulga Uul Nature Reserve





It’s the most beautiful and the most famous volcano of Mongolia. It was active 20 to 25 millions of years ago. You can find an exceptional and plenteous fauna and flora. In effect, the lava that flowed there many thousands of years ago gave way to a very fertile environment. The area is situated in the Khutag-Öndör soum of Bulgan Province. A smaller area was initially protected in 1965. Again in 1995, it was designated as a Natural Monument .



Day 20



Amarbayasgalant Monastery





This monastery is considered to be one of the top three Buddhist institutions in Mongolia, and country's most attractive and intact architectural complex."Amarbayasgalant Monastery" was built between 1727 and 1737 by the Manchu emperor Yongzheng, and dedicated to the great mongolian Buddhist and sculptor Zanabazar, whose mummified body was moved here in 1779. ​​
